Nouveau Custom Font Posters
Nouveau is a custom typeface directly inspired by the flowing letterforms seen in posters from the art nouveau and Edwardian period. For the final presentation, a series of three posters were made: one poster in black and white only showing the typeface itself; a poster made with only type; and a poster combining image with type. For this final poster, I aimed to emulate advertising posters from the time period I referenced.
This design won a Silver Award at the AAF Inland Empire ADDY Awards 2025 and the AAF District 15 ADDY Awards 2025.
Process & Inspiration
This font is heavily inspired by type found in art nouveau posters. The goal was to replicate this look so that it could be used for designs of a similar style.
